Hindi Diwas is celebrated every year to promote the Hindi language. In order to promote Hindi, it is advised to use Hindi in place of English in all government offices. Many literary and cultural events are organised on this day across the nation, wherein people celebrate great works of Hindi literature. Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar and Rajbhasha Gaurav Puraskar awards are also given to ministries, departments, public sector units (PSUs), nationalised banks and citizens on Hindi Diwas for their contribution and promotion of Hindi.
I would like to recollect some beautiful days of my life with the language
Initially I started learning Hindi in my 1st standard I had very beautiful book with colourful pages and the letters which I learnt. The book had a lot of pictures where we have to learn the words with pictures the words we learnt during those days were creating an impression in the mind of us that these pictures had only meant for this words and only we thought that only one word for there only one labelling for this letter.
Gradually after reaching further classes the letters turned into words. We started learning new new words where we try to recognise that there was not only one word for the single letter instead there were new new words and then gradually reaching to the third standard we understood we started learn things in a comprehensive manner. We knew that there were a lot more to learn about Hindi. Later we started learning how to write a letter in both informal as well as formal. It is really interesting to recall that the first paragraph and the second paragraph which we wrote for both formal and informal were to be learnt by heart because for the letter that we wrote in the formal and informal section had the same content.
It is really funny to recall those moments when teachers had only a single sentence to use which was राम ने रावण को बाण से मारा | After each lesson we learnt we had a वाक्य बनाओ session where this रामू, राम, राधा, राज, राजू were common.
After coming to Kerala there was only a few years may be 4 years I got to know मुहावरा, पर्यायवाची and all these writers like Munshi Premchand, दोहा, सूरदास and कबीरदास.
Currently I enjoy the language with movies and music. Hindi has always been a part of my life even though hindi is not my mother tongue, I live in a country where hindi is also talked
