Depression

Depression: A Strong Darkness

Depression is a dark alley
A storm that rages and does not sleep,
It grips the soul with icy claws,
And leaves  lost in its deadly jaws.

Took away the joy and light,
And turn days to endless nights,
Draining strength and steals our hope,
And leaves struggle just to cope.

Fight it, day by day,
But it find a way,
To wrap in its bitter veil,
And leave lost in a darkened shadow.

Whispering  lies into ears,
And fill hearts with endless fear,
Telling worthless and weak words
Feeling puny and meek.

In the darkest hour,
When all seems lost and without power,
There is a light that shines within,
A spark of hope that can begin.

Depression is a beast,
It does not have to be a feast,
Fight it, day by day,
And slowly chase the dark away.

Find the strength to stand,
And take control with hands,
Seek out help and find support,
And slowly build a new rapport.

Break the chains that hold us down,
And slowly climb back up the ledge,
Find the light and hold it tight,
And chase away the endless night.

So though depression may be strong,
It does not have to last for long,
Can fight it, tooth and nail,
And emerge victorious without fail.
