Ageing
In twilight's gentle grasp, I find stillness,
A tapestry of years upon my face,
Each line and wrinkle, a story that hovers,
Through time's embrace, in aging's tender grace.
Youth's vibrant shades faded,
As shadows trace the contours of the brow,
wisdom taking its altitude,
A soul refined, where life's true treasures grow.
Oh, fleeting days that danced in careless rush,
Now measured beats, like echoes from afar,
Yet with each passing year, I am embraced,
By lessons learned, beneath the distant fireball.
For age has gifted a cherished view,
The lens of time, a prism to behold,
The sweetest memories and dreams pristine,
In whispers carried, as the years unfold.
I've witnessed nature's cycles, seasons wane,
From tender blossoms to leaves of gold that fall,
And in this rhythm, find a peace sustained,
For life's impermanence, I now mesmerize.
With grace, I greet the silver strands that grace,
This crown once dark, is now touched by silver light,
For with their gleam, a tapestry takes place,
A testament to days turned into night.
So let age, like wine that's richly poured,
In age's goblet, wisdom held with care,
Embracing every moment, life's reward,
With open arms, journey unaware.
For time may steal the energy from strides,
Yet deep within, a young flame prevails,
And as the years unfurl, side by side,
age with grace, where beauty truly exists.
So let the tapestry of years be whirled,
In threads of love, laughter, and tears,
For aging, like the setting of the sun,
Bears witness to a truly dear life.
