Happy Ashadi Ekadashi to all 🚩
Ashadi Ekadashi
It's a Maharashtrian festival,
Where people from Maharashtra,
And Maharashtrian who stay in different parts of the World,
Mostly go walking to Pandharpur.
It is also known by various names like,
Maha- Ekadashi,
Padma Ekadashi,
And Devpodhi Ekadashi.
People enjoy themselves in groups,
Singing the glory of the God named Vishnu,
The people who go are also known as Warkaris,
And the festival goes on till late night.
It is believed that God Vishnu goes off to sleep,
In Ksheer Sagar which means Ocean of Milk,
That too he sleeps on Shesh Naga,
For a good duration of 4 months.
People today still keep fasts or Vraths,
Passing on the traditions,
From one Generation to the other,
By teaching and indulging younger generations in the festival too.
They believe that their people will be blessed with Peace,
Prosperity and happiness by God Vishnu,
And he will protect all his dear Warkaris,
And people connected with them.
