Through corridors of compromise and deceit,
Principles erode, the truth they mistreat,
While the common folk watch and bleat,
As power's elixir turns bitter, indiscreet.
Promises whispered, hopes enshrined,
The chorus of voices, a tangled design,
Ideals clash, convictions align,
In this theater of power, where shadows combine.
Amidst the fervor, a call for change,
A plea for unity, for justice to arrange,
To set aside ego, let compassion exchange,
And mend the fractures that power estrange.
Oh, politics, a double-edged blade,
Both light and darkness in your parade,
May wisdom guide each choice that's made,
For the fate of nations in your hands laid.
Battles fought with words as swords,
Debates like storms, thunderous chords,
Leaders rise and fall, champions adored,
Yet the yearning for progress remains ignored.

In the annals of time, your story etched,
A reflection of humanity, unmatched,
May the lessons learned, be firmly fetched,

To build a world where hope's attached.
