Indian Culture

                           Indian Culture

India is a land of diverse individuals. The people of India practice various religions. The nation is a secular one.  For ages, the masses of India, have been practicing the patriarchal system. The women of India, have been treated as subordinates to men.

The joint family system existed as a part of Indian culture. In some places, a matriarchial system existed. Age-old inequalities such as the sati system and child marriage existed as a part of the ancient Indian culture. There were situations where women were deprived of basic education and proper dressing.

Furthermore,  there are different lifestyles in Indian culture. The manner of clothing is different in the Northern, Southern, East, and West states of India.  Some masses eat spicy food.  While others prefer less spiced food. Then, education ( literacy ) in the Country varies. Many States deprive girls of receiving quality education. This is all a part of their long-existing culture and traditions.

Modern Indian culture has put forward a considerable change in the thoughts of the people. This has further enabled Girls' Education.  It has also assisted in the development and changes in Indian culture. Women have attained the same position as men in various jobs. The door of opportunities is wide and women are not restricted from doing the work of their choice in this modern era. Some examples: Pilot,  Engineer, Doctor, Scientist, Psychologist, etc.  We also find men in teaching positions just like their counterparts.

Thus, Indian culture is diverse and has yet to climb the ladder of fulfillment ( the happiness of each individual in India.)
