FATHER - The other side

"Abba nahi manenge", remember the famous dailogue from 3 idiots. This makes me think that even in 21st century we still have fathers like these. For many of us our dad is our hero. We look up to him as our idol. But the situation is not same for everyone. There are fathers who are narrow minded and orthodox living in various parts of India. 

The villages and remote areas have large number of girls who are deprived from education and freedom. The rules set by the head person chokes them. The father, has a command over the house. This is because of lack of education, blind faith and superstition that has imprinted on their minds and heads since decades. 

While in cities the settings are quite different. But this doesn't mean that city life is sorted. They too have to have a burden of fathers who are educated just for name sake. Their thoughts still match with the villages they have left behind. 

We need to change. Such kind of behavior by fathers has a negative effect on sons. From a very young age they perceive things just like their fathers. When they see their mothers and sisters treated with hate and disgust, these innocent souls think that this is how a woman should be treated. 

Hope that this impression will wipe out forever. Everyone will look up to their fathers. Someday "Abba nahi manenge" will change to "Abba jaroor manenge".
