Soccer mom

Soccer mom is a board term which gained widespread recognition during the 1996 United States Presidential election. In 1996 mom were viewed as precious voting demographic. There vote changed the results. The issues impacting the children and community were given higher weightage in vote consideration.

In 1982 the husband of the treasurer of " Soccer Mom's booster club" of Ludlow , Massachusetts, stole some amount. The amount was raised for the betterment of the club. United States media first time refered to the word " Soccer Mom".

American , Australian or Canadian middle-class or suburban women that reside in suburbs with school age children. Their major chunk of time is spent in transport of their school age children. To schools, sporting activities or another activities which might be or not be related to soccer. These moms are mentioned with broad term word " Soccer Mom".

Soccer mom term describes a scenario of traveling mom with the kids and watches her football game. The mother who raise money for their children soccer team is also mentioned as " Soccer Mom". Soccer mom depicts the sacrifice of mother , her putting first of her children.

During the 1996 Denver city council candidate Susan B Casey contested the election. With the slogan of " A soccer mom for city council". Presented herself as every neighbour and mom could be like her. This way she addressed the anxiety about women achivement and break the prejudice spread against successful women. She won the election that year.
