Maya is a bold and confident woman who has recently stepped into her thirties. She is an author and also owns a blog. Though she looks tough, her body owns a very sensitive heart. She loves reading, writing and listening her favorite artists. Maya is an opiniated, strong and independent lady of 21st century. She kicks of her day with a strong black tea and a small pep talk with her own self. One day maya sets off to work an hour prior as she has a meeting scheduled with a publisher for her upcoming book. As she notices that the publisher is Dhruv Kokate, her wide eyed gaze makes him a little awkward. 

The flash back starts. Maya Patil and Dhruv Kokate spent their childhood and teenage together. They first met when both were 3 years old. Since then their friendship has blossomed. They ate, played and studied together. They were almost inseparable. They went to the same school and fortunately studied in same class as well. Their parents saw the friendship flourishing. Years went by and they both grew older and older. They completed their higher studies and started to look for job opportunities. Maya started to write columns for various newspapers while dhruv was struggling freelancer. Slowly the friendship turned into love and affection. Their parents thought of their marriage. They both were very happy. One evening dhruv arrived with a letter in his hand with a wide smile. He was offered a job but he had to shift to New York for work experience. So they decided to postpone the wedding. The day arrived, dhruv left for New York. At the airport he promised maya that he will be back soon.

Years passed but dhruv didn’t turn up. Maya waited for him. Her parents advised her to move on. They felt pity and sad for her. But she believed that dhruv will be back and he will never break the promise. Now that dhruv was in front of her, she collapsed. Dhruv picked her up and embraced her with same love and affection. He apologized for keeping her wait. He married her the next day in presence of both the families and they lived happily. Maya realized that the promise was worth a wait.
