NOSTALGIC MEMORIES OF THE COLLEGE DAYS.

After a long time, fed up with the responsibilities,

I got a chance to visit the lanes which we once ruled in our capacities,

I sat on the bench and closed my eyes to go through those memories,

Was thrilled to remember the yesteryears, which were filled with fun,

The bench on which I sat was the throne of we friends,

We sat there laughing, discussing, giggling, and gossiping,

College was more of a relaxing place where we met enjoying,

Made never-ending plans of bunking classes,

Planned who would give proxy for the attendance,

Troubled lectures during lessons to increase their tension,

Did every unwanted experiment in a laboratory out of excitement,

Sat for hours in canteen discussing what to learn for the exams,

But the outcome would be nothing but extra samosas and cold drinks,

Made noise in library increasing the anger of librarian,

Then would make him happy with a smile and a gum,

Would make reasons to watch movies during classes time,

And then spend extra time to cover the lammed classes,

Bribed younger brothers and sisters to complete the practical manuals,

And always cry before mom and dad for the trivial pocket money they offered,

Sometimes walked the long distance with friends to save money,

Teachers knew that we were the troublesome four,

But could not do anything as we excelled in the class,

Such a remarkable period it was with everything reaching peaks,

From beauty to brain, from hormones to strength,

The world was the college, and the only tension was the studies,

Today, the responsibilities pop out like bubbles on boiling water,

One goes for the next to pop up again,

With those nostalgic days passing through my eyes,

Which slipped away like the eel in hand,

I opened my eyes to see few new faces going to the college,

Laughing, talking, and walking as though the world was under their feet,

I laughed and exclaimed, the new generation has taken over our place,

To cherish these lovely days and make beautiful memories to remember forever.
