         FAMILY VERSUS FRIENDS

Family is something which can never be selected,

We are born and the one with who we share our blood,

Become our relatives and people to look after in need,

We get no chance to choose them, but we love them as we care.

In family, we are loved, cared for, and respected,

We need to maintain decorum and values are expected,

Whether good or bad, we need to tolerate and move on,

We need to meet the expectation of everyone.

As we grow, we come across many people,

Some people with a similar mindset who are capable,

Come together and form a company with the same label,

And are called friends who bond together with love and never rebel.

Friendship is the only relationship where people do not share the same gene,

But there is something unique which they share in common,

There is an unknown sort of attraction,

And an unusual comfort in sharing things, our thoughts, and emotions.

True friends always support each other,

They are always there for their friends in need, with one another,

They laugh, joke and gossip together,

For them, the distance does not bother.

A friend in need is a friend indeed,

If they are together in delight, they are never away when sad,

Together they share the top secrets and never hide,

Of course, that is the way they are held tight.

They eat together, fighting for the last bite of pizza,

Neither caste, creed, nor religion forms a barrier in their bond,

There can be a hesitation in sharing issues with relatives,

But true friends ease the burden on their hearts with love and patience.

No wonder – false friends are like autumn leaves found everywhere,

Whereas true friends are like diamonds, very precious and rare.
