Steppin' Into Twenties
Guess I'm turning 20 tonight,
But l'm still processing 19!
I don't even know the purpose of life,
And yet confused on "Whom do I like?"
I'm so sick of stupid fights,
But I can't ignore the words she said.
Insecurities are banging in,
On random stuff I tend to overthink.
Childhood's gone with that paper plane which never had a perfect landing,
Now the deadly silence keeps burgeoning.
Steppin' into twenties is best and worst at the same time.
I force laughter when I want to grin,
My true feelings hide underneath
I'm not a kind that people like,
I don't know how to fake a smile.
I fall in love with twin fire signs,
Promised we'll stay glued in this together.
But now I'm shipwrecked on a lonely island,
Seems l've reached a dead end.
Childhood's gone with that paper plane which never had a perfect landing,
Now the deadly silence keeps burgeoning.
Steppin' into twenties is best and worst at the same time.
I get infatuated by shiny glistening pieces,
And paralyze myself till the brain cells burst.
I try to handle people with simplicity,
And lose myself in tranquility.
Now the maturity is piercing in,
Paper planes are soaring high.
The silence is getting deeper,
Steppin' into twenties is getting better.
