Be The Real You

Be The Real You

Pretence and authenticity are two contrasting terms, ideal world and the real world of Plato's philosophy. According to him, the ideal world is a reflection of that real-world that exists somewhere. A person in the ideal world is unreal; it is just a copy-paste of a real person in the world of reality. Likewise. pretence refers to a person who lives an imposturous life, he or she does not reveal the true self or real self of a being but remains clothed with the fake or unreal self.

When a person does not live a true self (genuine life). people would say that he or she is pretending. A person can hold on with the unreal self (pretence life) for a limited time but not for the long run. An unreal self is against the real self of a person. It covers up the real self and if it dominates In the entire human life, then, it becomes inauthentic since the real self is not manifested. Hence, living an unreal life is just like a person is not the actual one. The real self is concealed and supplemented with the outer self (external character), many of us live a photocopy life.

Be who and what you are in the best definition of living an authentic life. A person who knows and realizes the who and 'what' of life, is the happiest person; he or she finds the real meaning in life and enjoys life no matter what sorts of problems and difficulties may come. This is true, but why people are not happy with their lives, for instance, when they could not succeed in their tasks. The reason could be that they don't realize who and what they are by modelling, copying, imitating comparing with the other 'who's and what's, Comparison is the thief of happiness. Being happy with 'who you are and what you are in the way of happiness and authenticity.'

It is impossible to deal with sheepskin in front of the sheep when it is a well, as so one puts new wine into old wineskins, otherwise, the wine will burst the skins...but new wine into fresh wineskins. A person has to leave either the unreal self and live with the real self or cast the true self and lives with the untrue self.  The most important thing in life is to act, live and think genuinely and not artificially. Of course, it's difficult but this is what God wishes us to cultivate in our today's life.

"Put away your former way of life, your old self doe selves with the new self, created according to the likeness of God in true righteousness and boldness" (Ephesians 4:22-24.)
