Thinking of My favourite Person
I bless You for my parents,
and I ask Your blessing on them.
I do not understand them as they deserve,
nor do they always know what I really want.
they have done for me
But I know this more than I realize;
the price they have paid is higher than I see.
I expect perfection,
forgetting they are human,
and I want my parents to meet all my demands.
How can they?
Thank You, dear God, for my father and mother.
Thank You for all that they have given me their time, their youth, their health,
their possessions, and, above all,
themselves in love.
Help me to love them as I ought,
and to give them what they need.
Help me to understand them
in their greatness and their limitations,
and never add to their burdens.
Help me to forgive their inevitable mistakes, and to keep only the good they have taught me.
Give my parents, and all parents everywhere, courage and hope in their task,
joy in their children, and possibilities
to realize their dreams.
I shall never be able to repay
what my parents have done for me.
I entrust them, now and always,
to Your love a love far greater than all we know.
Your love reached me first through my parents. May it now reach them through me, and bring them joy, strength and comfort.
May we never destroy the circle of caring
in which Your tender wisdom has placed us. May we grow in You everyday
and show Your goodness to one another.
Dear God, apart from you
My parents are my second best
Favorite persons on earth.
But you are above all.
