The Queen in White

The catacomb white mountain at Manali,

The ‘Queen’ dressed in her white gown, She is in the company of  the Dhauladhar and the Pir-Panjal

Her neck, the white snow-festooned!

The wave of white snow crushed down the walls,

They seemed to cover her feet,

The sight was calm and blissful,

The mountain peaks snow-wreathed.

The ‘Queen’ is calm and peaceful,

She provides refuge to truth-seekers,

Climbing up her snowy peaks

Is such a bliss to the trekkers!

The ‘Queen’ hugs the heaven

With her beauty and transcendence, The flowing river with its clear water,

Adds to the sight, something really pleasant!

Years have passed and generations too

Tourists have been out and in, The golden sun at noon is her crown

And with her crests shining in the beam.

She has known a great deal, 

The flowers from the trees,

They all formed a row They seemed to decorate her white feet

And ornamented her white toes!

The star-studded sky at night

Formed her beautiful veil,

The ‘Queen’ in her beautiful makeover

Adorned the valley while standing still.

The ups and downs, the curves she has

And herself covered with white snow,

Symbolize that she’s aged

Yet, beautiful with her white glow.
