chapter nine
Airports get me agitated, the way everyone’s selfishness and ignorance shines as they bump through you as if you were no one. With a desperate sigh I started maneuvering through the crowd with careful movements. Each time someone crashed into me my inner wolf would growl and my self-awareness slowly came undone. I needed to escape from all these humans. Taking a deep breath helped me collect myself for a moment before I went completely wolf crazy. I centered myself and calmed down even though every nerve in my body jumped and spiked. With the help of feet I maneuvered through the crowd to the plane without careful movements unlike before. My head ached with the hustle and bustle of moving feet stomping, phones ringing, and ignorant people yelling. Aromas of several cultural foods mingled with foul and sweet body odors creating an unappealing overall scent of the airport. Everything about the airport was poison to hypersensitive senses that only came into play when I became unfocused. Within the mix of chaotic things my brilliant eyes spotted the loading space to my flight. People were already getting on so I took that as a hint to speed up, not that I wasn’t in a rush to escape the airport’s main ways. I gave my ticket, pass port, and ID to the man who was letting people in. Once he handed everything back I came to the realization that in the mist of the chaotic measures to get here, it was my last few minutes here before leaving to my demonic parents.
“Logan, I wonder how long I can survive without you,” I whispered to myself as I glance of towards the exit. Forcing my feet to move involuntarily was hard, each foot movement I had to think of a reason to leave.
