Beautiful Eyes
Maya was helping the new bride in getting ready for her big day. She helped in the make up and also in setting her hair properly into a tight bun.
After all the work was done, Maya looked at the new bride with a deep sense of pride. The bride, Moha was looking awesome after all the makeover and a magical touch of shine and sparkle added by the beauty expert, Maya.
Maya was a hardworking woman, in other words a true wonder woman, who helped in the complete makeover of her clients and helped them in presenting their best side in front of this world.
Her husband was a salesman in a cosmetics shop and he was struggling to make ends meet financially. Maya understood the plight of her husband, a simple man who wanted to make his family happy but due to the lack of money and paying his house loan on a monthly basis, not much was left behind for the family vacation or the little surprises for his family.
When the pandemic started, his shop was either closed or saw very few customers, who were avoiding going to the market as they were scared of the virus and the disease caused by it.
Maya knew that it was one of the most difficult time of her life yet she asked her friends for any advice to save her family from this stressful situation. Someone suggested to her that she could undergo a training for becoming the beauty expert as she always used to give tips to her friends about the hairstyles or the latest fashion trends.
She did not have money to undergo the beauty expert training, so she sold her gold jewellery and paid for the course-cum-training at her local beauty parlour. She passed the course with flying colours and started working at her own parlour, which she prepared by utilising the extra space of her terrace after covering it up with the help of a waterproof material.
Maya bought the chair and other cosmetics with the leftover money and put a small board outside her house which displayed the name of her long standing dream, "Beautiful Eyes."
The unusual name was justified by her by saying that the true beauty lies in the eyes of beholder. It was an amazing way of looking at the true meaning of beauty and to feel our inner beauty instead of getting carried away by the outside glitz and glamour.
Slowly but steadily her business caught the pace and now she has started earning enough to provide food for her family and keep the roof above their head. In my eyes, all the women like Maya are a true wonder women who are the true backbone of their families and reveal the true essence of being a woman by showcasing their hidden talents and by walking on the path of self-reliance.
