Visionary Forefathers and Spiritual Masters

Shravani was feeling tired after a long journey and she fell asleep the moment she lied down on her bed.

Radhika was also tired and she slept like a child, without any worry or concern in this world.

Vanya kept awake as she wanted to keep a vigil for the safety of her visitors.

Kartik felt that his life was complete after meeting a beautiful stranger and dozed off dreaming about his future with Shravani.

Shravani was having a dream in which a woman with beautiful brown hair was smiling at Shravani and said to her, "Come and find me, I am waiting for you, I miss you so much!"

Shravani woke up with sweat on her forehead. She could not sleep after that. She realised that she might have seen her mother, Vasudha in her dream.

Next morning, Shravani went to meet the young girls and boys of the village. Kartik was teaching them Kalaripayattu. Radhika said to the little children,

"Hey, I have a great idea! Let's see who wins between the two best fighters present among us today, Shravani and Kartik!"

Kartik became serious and said to Radhika, "No, no please, I don't fight with girls, I always respect them!"

Shravani rolled her eyes and challenged him for a promotional match, as she said to him,

"Maybe you are afraid that you might lose this fight and you are trying to save your face from the humiliation of being defeated from an outsider otherwise just accept my challenge and be prepared to fight!"

Kartik came forward and said to her,

"If you will win this fight then I will learn  taekwondo from you and if I will win then you have to promise me that you will learn Kalaripayattu from me!"

Shravani said in a confident voice,

"Done!"

The friendly match began with the sudden attack by Shravani as she started attacking Kartik but he was too quick and always managed to escape from her kicks just in the nick of time.

Kartik was showcasing some of the finest moves of Kalaripayattu as he jumped in the air and almost took his opponent by complete surprise. He used his hands so swiftly that Shravani felt as if she was watching a live performance by a real life superhero.

She decided that she will not be distracted by her charismatic opponent and she waited patiently for her turn and jumped higher than anyone could imagine and turned back and then kicked with so much force that for a mili second Kartik forgot that he was a part of a friendly match and he just moved his upper torso backwards due to his flexibility and saved himself in the right moment from the killer move of his opponent.

Kartik jumped and his swift hand movement was almost invisible to the naked eyes and it almost landed right next to the neck of Shravani and she just saved herself by jumping and kicking so quickly that her leg blocked the hand of Kartik and she was declared the winner of the friendly battle.

Shravani and Radhika started jumping like little kids as they celebrated their victory together.

Suddenly, Shravani felt a sharp pain in her leg  and ankle due to a muscle sprain and she fell hard on the ground.

She was crying in pain, "Aah.. Aah.."

Kartik lifted her in his arms and put her down under a huge tree. He pressed some points of her feet and after sometime, Shravani started feeling better.

She said to Kartik,

"I thought, I would have to consult a surgeon to fix my ankle but you did an amazing job by fixing my ankle by pressing some pressure points, tell me who taught you this and how did you know about pressure points present in our bodies which can bring immediate relief when we are in pain and don't know what is the best way to heal ourselves?"

Kartik smiled at her and said that,

"This is the beauty of our culture, the knowledge of healing through pressure points is a part of Kalaripayattu and we know that the secret of healing is not in the outer world somewhere most of the time, in fact the true healing of our mind, body or heart is always present in ourselves as you might know that the word, "Swasthya" is the Sanskrit word for health, which means being rooted in the self. It means that we can always find the solution to our health problems if we know the root cause of it which gives us the cure and the right method to treat it. It is truly mesmerizing and we all can be benefited by the ancient knowledge of our visionary forefathers and spiritual masters."
