Heer & Veer (Part 2)

Tahir reached the exam hall, where he was made to sit near Heer. He was never fond of her due to her nerdy look and silent behavior. But Tahir didn’t have an option. He had to talk to Heer.

“Hey, I’ve not studied anything. Will you help me?” Tahir asked, but Heer didn’t utter a word as she was instructed to do that.

“Hey, girl. I’m asking you. Are you deaf? You have to help me.” Heer continued her writing which made Tahir angry furthermore. He didn’t like her ignorance and hence grabbed the paper which she was writing. For Heer’s luck, the invigilator saw the action done by Tahir.

“What’s happening there? Tahir and Heer, both of you, get up.” Both of them stood up. Heer had a terrified expression whereas, Tahir stood there with a scornful face. The teacher walked towards their bench.

“What happened, Heer? Tell me,” the teacher asked Heer as tears were filling her eyes.

“Ma’am, Tahir grabbed my answer sheet from me while I was writing. He… He was insisting me… to… to show the answers to him,” Heer replied as she stammered due to loss of words and Tahir’s fierce glare on her.

“Tahir, what did you do? How dare you?” The teacher scolded Tahir while calming Heer.

“Ma’am, cheating in an exam is not a new thing. Most of the people in this class do that. This girl is used to getting involved in drama. Then only she’ll get sympathy from people, right” Tahir said with a scornful face.

“Stop this. Come on. I’m taking you to the Principal’s room.” The teacher took Tahir to the Principal’s room leaving Heer to write her exam. Before sitting, she looked around the class to see people looking at her with a glare. Tahir’s friends gave her a warning look which made her more terrified. However, Heer continued to write the exam as she didn’t want her Maa’s scolding for scoring fewer marks.

Meanwhile, Veer Kapoor was continuing his audition sessions as he hadn’t got a female lead singer for his band. He was getting stressed and sad by that fact.

“Veer, I don’t think this is going to work, yaar,” the drummer of the band, Jatin Raichand, said to Veer.

“Yeah, let’s wind it up then.” At that moment, Veer got a call from Seema Bakshi, his friend.

“Hello, Seema.” Veer took the call.

“Veer, Tahir has been caught for cheating in the exams. The Principal is going to debar him from the exams and is going to dismiss him from the college.”

“What? Seema, wait there itself. I’m coming to college right away.” Veer went to college from there. Tahir was at the Principal’s room. Veer went straight to the Principal’s room.

“Who’s that? Veer Kapoor. Why are you here?” The Principal asked.

“Sir, Tahir is my friend. I want to know what happened,” Veer demanded an answer.

“Mr. Veer Kapoor, this boy has grabbed the answer sheet of the student who sat near him because she didn’t show him the answers. This action is intolerable. Your friend is going to be dismissed from the college,” The Principal revealed.

“Principal Sir, I know you know that I’m RK’s son. My Dad is one of the Directors of this college. Tahir is my friend. So, I hope you won’t dare to take any action against him. If you want, I’ll call my Dad,” Veer said as he stood in front of the Principal with full authority.

“Veer, we are tied to take an action here. We haven’t informed the University yet. So we can leave off the debarring. But we need to at least suspend Tahir, otherwise, it will affect the college's reputation. I hope you understand,” the Principal said.

“That will be fine.” Veer moved towards Tahir.

“Enjoy your 15-day vacation,” Veer whispered with a wink in Tahir’s ear, to which he grinned.

“We’re taking a leave. Come, Tahir.” Veer and Tahir came out of the Principal’s room. Their friends were waiting for them as they wanted to know the final decision. They all were happy hearing that Tahir’s punishment was restricted to a suspension.

“I’m so relieved. I was scared, thinking that Tahir is not going to be studying again with us. Now I’m happy,” Seema said with relief. They were talking with each other and, that was when Seema spotted Heer near a bench in the ground.

“Tahir, look, that girl is sitting there, Heer.” Everyone, including Veer, looked to the side where Seema pointed.

“I’m gonna make her know who I am.” Tahir paced to Heer’s place, but Veer stopped him.

“Tahir, no. You are already under suspension. Don’t make things worse.” Veer brought Tahir under control through his words. After cooling him down, Veer walked towards Heer, who was seated on the bench reading a book.

“Hey, Girl.” Heer looked here and there.

“Hey, here. I’m standing right here.” Heer stood up immediately, terrified. She knew that Veer was Tahir’s Buddy.

“So, you’re that Heer. I’m telling you, girl. Because of you, Tahir got suspended for 15 days. Just take these 15 days as your notice period, which means that you have 15 days for leaving this college. When Tahir comes after his suspension period, you should not be there in this college. I don’t care where you go. But if you don’t obey me, you will have to face Tahir’s wrath, which will be worse than this. Understand. You better understand.” He left after giving Heer a deadly warning. Heer stood there without knowing what to do as she watched Veer walk away with his friends.
